Do you have a particularly bad case of stretch marks and are wondering what stretch mark treatments are available to you?  Stretch marks can attack anyone, not just pregnant women, in fact many men are known to get them as well!

You see, stretch marks can happen if you gain a lot of weight really fast, so this would make anyone who is overweight a target as well as bodybuilders who put on a lot of muscle really fast.  It is also possible that you got them when growing up through one of your growth spurts.

A great many people have to deal with these annoying marks, some like to wear it as a badge of honor, however most of us want to just get rid of them as they are quite unsightly.  If you fall into the latter category, not to worry, there are many stretch mark treatments that will eliminate stretch marks, and we are going to go over just a few of those:

1.        Tanning

I actually shouldn’t be calling this one of the stretch mark treatments, but I just had to include this anyway.  When you’re dealing with stretch marks, all you can really do is reduce their appearance as it’s impossible to get rid of them completely.  So along those lines, one of the best ways to reduce the appearance of stretch marks is to go ahead and tan your skin so that they are less apparent.

Go to a tanning salon and tan your body, over repeated sessions, you’ll find that not only do you have a nice tan, but the stretch marks you have are now better blended into your surrounding skin. I’m not sure why this happens, but it does, so take advantage of it and use it to conceal those unsightly lines.

2. Chemical Peels

Out of all the stretch mark treatments you can try, this may be more on the extreme end, but it is still quite a powerful option, so you should definitely consider it. What happens here is chemicals are applied to the body in the troublesome area in order to “burn” and peel off the top layer of skin. This is often used to treat acne or fine lines.

Once the treatment is done, your skin will look like it’s just been sunburned, it will be tender and have a pinkish hue. These chemical peels are widely practiced in many spas so there shouldn’t be too much trouble in finding this service.

Now the peels are not going to get rid of the stretch marks, however it will improve the texture of your skin and make them less noticeable for a while.

3. Blue Light Therapy

This is another one of the extreme stretch mark treatments available, this technology is normally used to get rid of unwanted tattoos or for treating pigmentation conditions such as freckles, varicose veins or rosacea. What happens during this treatment is a photosensitive gel is applied to the targeted area and then some bursts of light are emitted through it via the laser to zap the area.

Now if none of these sound appealing to you, there are always creams and lotions to try, many of which can be found in your local stores or through the Internet. The important thing is that you don’t give up, keep seeking out stretch mark treatments and you will eventually reduce the appearance of your own stretch marks.
