Sleep apnea is quite a common occurrence and happens when you have several pauses in your breathing at night.  Another form of sleep apnea includes shallow breathing as well.  These pauses in breathing can last a couple of seconds to even minutes at a time in the most serious cases and they can happen anywhere from 5 to 30 times in only 1 hour.

So if you’re looking for some sleep apnea cures, good on you as this is to be considered a serious problem.  The good news is there are plenty of remedies to try out, especially out there on the Internet.  You can find many different solutions talked about at various websites. 

We’re going to cover a couple right here which hopefully will help you out:

1.        Lose Weight

One of the best sleep apnea cures is to just lose some weight.  Often times the blockage of the airways occurs due to being slightly overweight.  If you go to the gym and get rid of fatty deposits in your body, there will be less of a chance that your nasal or throat cavity will become blocked or this may at the least lessen in severity.


Now this might not be the easiest of sleep apnea cures but if you can make it a part of your lifestyle to eat healthier as well as to exercise, and if you make a concentrated effort, actually put the energy in to see this through, you will see progress. It will not only make you feel better about yourself, but it will improve your health.

1. Don’t Use Drugs or Alcohol

Both of these things can create sleep apnea. If you are a heavy drinker, you really need to cut the alcohol out completely, this may be one of the things which is contributing to the problem in the first place. Ween yourself off of the alcohol bit by bit, week by week and if you combine this with the above tip to lose weight, you will see a marked improvement.

2. Vervain

Another of the sleep apnea cures involves a flower remedy called vervain. This can be brewed into a tea which if you drink right before bed time can produce a calming effect that will help keep your nasal passages relaxed during your sleep. You can pick this up at an herbal supplements store.

3. Elevate Your Head

This is one of the simpler sleep apnea cures, all you have to do is prop your head up on several pillows at once so that you’re not laying down flat on the bed. You can also try getting one of those pillows that has a hole in the middle for your head, this will put you in the proper sleeping position to keep your nasal passageways open and clear.
