Are you looking into ways of preventing stretch marks? Perhaps you’re a woman who is about to have a baby and are looking for preventative measures to take so that you don’t wind up with any stretchies at the end of the pregnancy. Then again, maybe you’ve already gotten some stretch marks and are just looking to keep more from popping up. Regardless of what your particular case is, there are definitely some measures you can take to ensure that your skin remains free of stretch marks.

Drink More Water

One of the best ways of preventing stretch marks is very simple, it just involves you drinking more water. The more water you drink, the more elastic and healthy your skin will be, the more elastic your skin is, the less likely it is to tear. Make sure you get well over the 8 glasses of water suggested most of the time and aim to get at least 3 liters of water in each day. For those that lead an active lifestyle, it’s actually better to be getting a gallon or possibly a bit more than a gallon each day. I know it sounds crazy and you will be visiting the bathroom quite a bit, but this is what is required by your body so that it may function at it’s best.

Exercise More!

Another way of preventing stretch marks that goes hand in hand with the above tip is to start exercising more. Why? Because often times you get stretch marks by putting on too much excess weight. By managing your diet and not eating too much, you can prevent yourself from getting into situations where your skin is stretched to thin.

Try heading out to the gym at least 3 times a week and doing a 1 hour session of weight training followed by 45 minutes of cardio. If you combine this with a healthy diet, you will not only lose weight, but you will also incredibly physically fit.

Cocoa Butter

Another way of preventing stretch marks that’s often talked about is through using simple cocoa butter. This can be found sometimes in your local drug store or supermarket. What it does is improve the elasticity of your skin as well as stimulate the production of collagen. Seeing as how stretch marks occur due to the lack of collagen in a particular area of your skin, rubbing some cocoa butter can help to repair that.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is yet another way of preventing stretch marks. Vitamin E is a sticky oil that you can get from your local health food store, or, you can buy it from Walmart in the form of gelcaps. What you do then is apply the oil directly to the affected area and rub it in. If you’re using gel caps, just squeeze the oil right out of there. This will work to again rebuild collagen and speed up the healing of your stretch mark scar.

A lot of these solutions can be found in stores, but If not there, try looking for them on the Internet. Good luck!
