Looking for some natural cures for insomnia?  Of course the standard solution is to head on over to the doctors office and get prescribed a dose of pills, however that is not always the optimal way of handling the situation, additionally, not everyone likes to heavily medicate themselves.  Thankfully, there are many alternative remedies for this sleeping disorder, many of which can help out quite a bit.

2. Drink Warm Milk

Another one of the natural cures for insomnia is to drink warm milk about 15-20 minutes right before bed. The milk will work to relax your central nervous system and with reduced anxiety levels and a more general feeling of calmness, you will be better able to slip into a deep sleep.

3. Get A Massage

Now I realize this is not something that this insomnia cure is not something everyone will have the luxury of having done. However, if you do have a spouse or significant other, have them help you out before you go to bed by giving you a bit of a backrub or even a scalp and facial massage right before bed time. It will help release the tension in your muscles for the day and hopefully help you to drift off that much easier.

4. Drink Herb Tea

Another drink you can try at night is to try some chamomile, fennel, anise, or catnip tea. These herbal teas will work to help relax your central nervous system much like the milk from before would. You can pick these up from your local holistic or even supplement store. If you can’t find them there though, check online, it’s worth making the purchase online even if that’s not something you’re normally comfortable doing.
