Insomnia Cures That Work Wonders!

Are you in search of some insomnia cures? Not being able to get a good nights sleep while seemingly not that harmful is one of the most irritating conditions one can possibly deal with. Sleep is usually a time of relief, an escape from life’s struggles and stresses, but when you’re deprived of even this simple pleasure, life can become sheer misery.

Insomnia is not a disease though, it is a mental condition which affects people in different ways. Some may get frequent interruptions throughout the night, others might wake up too early, then there are those of course who can’t go to sleep in the first place.

If you have this condition though there are insomnia cures which you can make use of which will hopefully help you to get a better nights sleep. But one of the first things I want to mention before we go into that is that if you do feel you have this condition, make sure you contact your doctor ASAP. A sleeping disorders can lead to serious problems if not looked at by a professional so this should be your number one course of action before trying any insomnia cures of your own.

If however you’ve already gone to your doctor and tried prescribed medication without success, here are a few other things which you can try:

1. Sleeping Pills

This one is obvious. Sleeping pills can be found over the counter at most drug stores, and if taken correctly can be of great help to your sleeping condition. Be warned though, if you drink alcohol regularly, do not drink alcohol while taking sleeping pills or you can be setting yourself up for some serious problems.

You see both alcohol and sleeping pills act as “depressants”, they slow your body down, relax your muscles and make you feel tired. If you take both at the same time, it can cause your body to relax a little too much. Your breathing may slow down a little too much resulting in not enough oxygenation of the blood and a drop in blood pressure. If your breathing is hampered enough it could even result in you entering into a coma where you can die due to lack of oxygen, so you must be careful when taking these.

2.     Herbal Tea

Another insomnia cure is simply drinking warm herbal tea.  Drink some about 30 minutes before heading off to bed and it will help put you in a relaxed mood where you will be more receptive to falling asleep.

3.     Warm Milk

Another one of the classic insomnia cures involves having some warm milk before bedtime.  Like the tea, take it 30 minutes before bed.

One final note to help you get rid of this issue.  If you want to enhance the effectiveness of all of these insomnia cures, try getting a sleeping mask to cover your eyes so you can fall asleep that much easier.
